Firm partners British Council to empower young entrepreneurs

NerdzFactory, in collaboration with the British Council and King’s Trust International, has launched an initiative for young entrepreneurs in Lagos, tagged, ‘Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge (YSEC).

The company’s’s founding partner, Ademulegun Olowojoba, said the initiative is as an oppourtunity, designed to support aspiring business leaders between the ages of 18 and 35 and would run for seven weeks.

He said: “The goal is to equip participants with the skills, resources, mentorship, and funding needed to create sustainable businesses. The YSEC programme offers a comprehensive and engaging learning experience that goes beyond traditional training. Participants will receive training in core business skills, such as financial literacy, business planning, and sustainability principles.

“It includes hands-on activities like business simulation games, where participants can apply what they’ve learned in a practical setting. This experiential approach is intended to build entrepreneurial skills, fostering confidence and capability in young entrepreneurs as they enter into the competitive business world. Another unique aspect of YSEC is its emphasis on role model exposure visits, where participants will have the chance to meet and interact with successful local entrepreneurs.”

He said that the programme will conclude with a pitch competition, allowing participants to present their business ideas to a panel of judges. Those with the most promising proposals, he said, would receive business grants and additional post-programme mentoring to help them scale their ventures.
