Fire tragedy destroys 50 shops in another Kano Market

About 50 shops have been destroyed by fire at the Fatima Simra Multi-Purpose Market at Dakata quarters, in Nasarawa Local Government  Area of Kano State.

This is coming barely a week after a major fire incident destroyed facilities and shop items belonging to no fewer than 1,500 traders at the Singer Market in the metropolis.

Saturday Sun reports that the same Singer Market had be gutted by fire about a week before the present instance.

The Chairman,
Fatima Simra Market fire Committe, Dauda Haruna Chula, said the inferno started around 5:40 a.m. on Friday,

‘’Affected shops were mainly small-scale businesses engaged in oil production and recycling of plastics and nylon” he explained. .

Chula said the extent of destruction and possible casualties were yet to be ascertained as the fire had just been contained.

Efforts to get the details of the fire incident from the Kano State Fire Service were not successful as at press time. End.
