Parts of Nigeria Breweries Plc in Aba, Abia State was engulfed by fire on Friday, causing collosal damage in the process.
Reports have it that it took the combined efforts both federal and state fire outfits, including that of some individual companies to quench the fire that raged for over four hours.
It was gathered that the fire broke out in a warehouse used as a parking space for empty crates and bottles offloaded from trucks.

Some residents who live close to the Breweries said when the fire started they thought the staff or workers at the warehouse were burning waste or used and old beverage crates, not knowing it was fire accident.
They said they were startled when the fire accompanied by a thick black smoke took over the entire vicinity and also posed as threat to their lives and property, which made them to start evacuating their property as a pro-active measure of preventing their properties from being engulfed by the inferno as their building shares fence with the company.
They confirmed that efforts to put off the fire initially by the locals and staff of the brewering company proved abortive as the hot weather and the plastic fuelled the rage of the fire.
No official of the company was on hand to speak about the incident, however, the State Fire officer, Nnanna Arua, said preliminary investigation has it that the fire could have been triggered by burning of waste, which was further fuelled by the presence of stacks of plastic creates and empty bottles packed in the area.
