On a Sunday afternoon, a fierce fire engulfed the private residence of Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reducing it to ashes.
Sources indicate that the property, situated at No. 9, Justice Roseline Ukeje Close in the Asokoro district of Abuja, suffered total destruction with no items salvaged, exacerbated by a delayed response to the scene.
While an official statement on the matter is pending, Mr. Austine Elemue, the Minister’s Media Aide, confirmed the incident and noted that investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
