The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the full implementation of the 2026 budget, describing it as a budget of consolidation designed to drive economic growth, improve national security, and enhance the welfare of Nigerians.
The assurance was given by the Minister of State for Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, on Monday while presenting the 2026 budget to the Senate in Abuja.
A statement from the minister’s office quoted Uzoka-Anite as saying that the government is determined to ensure that the budget translates into tangible benefits for citizens through strict monitoring, effective implementation, and adherence to fiscal discipline.
She explained that the 2026 budget places strong emphasis on strengthening macroeconomic stability, accelerating infrastructure delivery, improving security, and promoting sustainable economic growth across critical sectors of the economy.

According to the minister, prudent fiscal management and aggressive revenue mobilisation will be prioritised, with tax reforms aimed at broadening the tax base and enhancing compliance.
She added that the Federal Government will also pursue strategic investments in security, infrastructure, and education, leveraging public-private partnerships and development finance to fast-track project delivery and stimulate economic activities.
Uzoka-Anite noted that the 2026 budget represents a decisive transition from economic stabilisation to growth, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that budgetary provisions are fully implemented, stressing that the ultimate goal is to deliver improved security, better infrastructure, and expanded economic opportunities for Nigerians.
