The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has slammed the Federal Government over what it described as complacency in addressing the rising insecurity across the country, warning that both the North and the nation risk total collapse if urgent action is not taken.
The National Coordinator of the group, Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, made the call on Monday at a national press conference in Abuja.
Charanchi urged President Bola Tinubu and security chiefs to take decisive, coordinated action to defend Nigeria’s citizens, sovereignty, and dignity.
The group also accused Amnesty International of weaponising human rights for political gain and cautioned Donald Trump to “keep his threats to himself,” stressing that Nigeria is a sovereign nation, not a client state.

CNG further challenged the international community to stop promoting false religious narratives and instead focus on holding corrupt politicians, reckless governors, and compromised judges accountable for the country’s instability.
“Our real enemies are insecurity, poverty, and bad governance — not one another,” Charanchi said, calling for unity among Muslims and Christians.
He warned that if Nigeria fails to assert control over its narrative and territory, chaos could engulf not just the nation but the entire Sahel region.
“We will not remain silent while foreign powers insult our dignity and play politics with our blood,” the group vowed.
