The Federal Government has launched a 33-hectare site-and-service scheme under the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) in Osogbo, Osun State, while also announcing that 300 housing units in Bwari are ready for commissioning.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the FHA, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, represented by Arc. Nya-Etok Ezekiel, Executive Director of Estate Services, stated that the project is a partnership with Summit Group Ltd.
He said the development will feature a mixed-use layout comprising residential units, commercial spaces, and recreational centres designed to serve families, workers and entrepreneurs.
“By combining living, working, and leisure environments, we aim to foster vibrant, safe, and self-sustaining communities,” he said.
Hon. Ojo noted that the FHA is undertaking the project with an acute awareness of the nation’s severe housing deficit. Emphasising that the government cannot bridge this gap alone, he pointed to public-private partnerships as a central delivery model.
“Our collaboration with Summit Group Ltd exemplifies the shared-risk, shared-value approach that produces faster delivery, higher-quality outcomes, and greater value for both citizens and investors,” he added.
According to the FHA boss, the initiative builds on recent public-private partnership engagements, underscoring the agency’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in delivering modern homes and community infrastructure that meet global standards.
He added that the agency is driven by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate to be bold, accountable and results-driven in tackling the nation’s housing challenges.

“In response, the FHA has reoriented its strategies to prioritise accelerated project delivery, enhanced land utilisation, sustainable design principles, and inclusivity to ensure housing opportunities are accessible to all Nigerians,” Ojo said.
Highlighting recent nationwide efforts, Hon. Ojo noted that the agency broke ground on a partnership project in Ogun State on May 13, 2026, and launched the Renewed Hope Estate in Umuahia, Abia State, on April 11, 2026. He said similar initiatives had also been carried out in Akwa Ibom and Kaduna states.
Addressing the residents of Osogbo and Osun State, the FHA assured the public of its commitment to responsible development that respects local needs, creates jobs and boosts economic growth.
The agency pledged to work closely with state and local authorities, community leaders and private partners to ensure the project delivers long-term benefits.
Earlier, the General Manager of PPP and Zonal Coordinator for the FHA, Arc. Peter Okpanachi, disclosed that the 33.8-hectare estate, spanning 241 plots, will feature commercial and institutional zones, a clinic, a police station, religious sites, and a central sewage system, positioning it as one of the best estates in Osogbo.
Adding to these assurances, the Executive Director of Projects Implementation, Engr. Remi Omowaye, promised that the development would meet all necessary requirements to stand out as a premier destination in the state.
