FEC continues today –Minister

The fifth Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of 2024 presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa, will continue today, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.

The Minister told State House Correspondents that the council was making far reaching decisions hence the meeting will continue today.

“The council meeting will continue tomorrow, therefore, there will be no press briefing today. A lot of far reaching decisions are being taken and the conclusions will be made available to you tomorrow. FEC will continue 12 noon tomorrow.”

The meeting of yesterday came seven weeks after the last council gathering in March. It also comes as the Tinubu administration approaches its first year in office.

National issues on the agenda include the economy, infrastructure, and security.

Before the commencement of the meeting, Tinubu administered the oath of office to two additional federal commissioners of the National Population Commission and a  moment of silence was observed for former council members, Fabian Osuji former Minister of Education under President Olusegun Obasanjo administration and Ogbonnaya Onu, a former minister of science and technology in the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

While Osuji died at the age of 82, Onu died at the age of 72.
