The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has launched four dedicated telephone numbers for FCT residents to report uncleared refuse, aiming to tackle the escalating waste management crisis head-on.

The move came amid growing complaints about overflowing refuse sites across Abuja, straining the city’s sanitation efforts during the festive season.

The initiative, announced in a statement yesterday, seeks to hold waste management contractors accountable by ensuring they clear refuse promptly. Residents can now send photos and videos of uncleared dumps via WhatsApp to these lines, specifying the exact location to pinpoint the responsible contractors.
