The Nigerian Gospel music scene is bubbling with thriving versatile musicians hitting the scene, and here is one of such stars.
Edidiong Johnny, popularly known as Dcapable, is a talented Nigerian Gospel music minister, songwriter, recording, and performing artiste. Hailing from Akwa Ibom state, Dcapable has been making waves in the Gospel music scene since his debut single “I Declare” in 2017.
Despite facing challenges as an independent artist, Dcapable’s passion for music has driven him to consistently release inspiring singles and EPs, including his 2023 release “God’s Love EP”, which has blessed fans globally.
When asked about his inspiration to music, Dcapable said, “My dad and Frank Edwards inspired me to music because I grew up seeing him (my dad) sing in church so my passion for music began from there then started listening to music and found Frank Edwards as my favourite Gospel artist.”
Dcapable’s latest single “Never Say Never” is a personal testimony of his journey through depression and perseverance. Inspired by a conversation with a friend who was contemplating suicide, Dcapable penned the uplifting song to encourage those facing difficulties to trust God and believe in themselves.
