The Eze Ndigbo Ghana HRM Eze Amb. Chukwudi Ihenetu has congratulated the new King of England, King Charles 111, on his coronation as the king of England.
King Charles 111 succeded his mother, Queen Elizabeth, who died September 8, last year.
King Charles III has been crowned in the United Kingdom’s biggest ceremonial event for seven decades, in the presence of the royal family, 4,000 British and Commonwealth troops, about 100 world leaders and a television audience of millions.
The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby placed the 360-year-old St Edward’s Crown on Charles’s head in Westminster Abbey on Saturday, during a solemn two-hour service
in a statement, HRM Eze Dr Amb. Ihenetu Assistant Publicity Secretary Ndieze Ndigbo in the Diaspora said the emergence of King Charles 111 will bring prosperity to the United Kingdom.
While calling on the new monarch to pursue justice and righteousness as he accend the throne of his forefathers, the Umuduruoha Amigbo Nwagele Imo state-born Royal Father said UK and Nigeria has a lot in common.
“ I use this opportunity to call on the new monarch to do all he can to ensure that things go the right way in Nigeria. It is sad that 6 decades, after independence, the country Nigeria still wallows in deep corruption and bad governance. As Head of the Commonwealth, UK has a lot of role to play in ensuring that Nigeria becomes a developed country.
Going down memory lane, HRM Ihenetu recalled that King Charles Mum, Queen Elizabeth 11, had great love for Nigeria and Africa, and this reflected in UK policies towards the country and the continent. The Royal Father thus called on King Charles to follow her footsteps by also coming out with policies that would promote peace and socio-economic development of Nigeria and the African continent as a whole.
