Extra-judicial killings’ll land you in ICC, Ortom warns military

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has warned the military against obeying President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to shoot on sight persons found snatching ballot boxes.

Ortom, who spoke at a press briefing in Abuja, yesterday, said soldiers and other security agents should know that extra-judicial killings could lead to their prosecution  at the International Court of Justice (ICC).

The Benue governor explained that in as much he does condone electoral malpractices, perpetrators must be dealt with in accordance with the law.

He urged security agencies to carry out their functions in line with their rules of engagement.
