Nigerians have been tasked with using their leadership skills for the advancement and growth of the country.
The charge was jointly given by Nigeria’s foremost motivational speaker, Fela Durotoye, the Mayor of Housing, My-ACE China and a global leadership coach, Brian Reuben, when they met at the Strategic Elevation Conference 2026 held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The event, also called the DBR Conference, was organized by the Mayor of Housing, My-ACE China, to celebrate convener, Brian Reuben’s birthday.
The experts spoke on different topics, charging the citizens to see opportunities in challenges they face and confront them with a positive mindset.
Durotoye, who spoke on ‘Narrative Authority: Controlling the Story that Shapes Influence’, said his work is to “raise nation-builders, people who love their nation, who want the best for their nation and are willing to do their best to see Nigeria become its best.”
Durotoye added that his greatest delight would be to see every person in Rivers State and across Nigeria “develop their leadership ability to deliver a better Nigeria.”
He said Nigeria’s transformation depends on citizens discovering their purpose and using their gifts to address societal needs.
“The Nigeria of our dreams is waiting inside you for the problem that you have not yet solved. Your success is tied to Nigeria’s success, so let Nigeria succeed because you found a problem and solved it.”
Also, My-ACE China, who gave tips on market positioning, revealed success keys in Port Harcourt business circuit, saying Rivers treasure is in its people, not in crude oil.

He said the initiative aligns with his commitment to promoting Rivers State as a destination for business, innovation and transformational events.
China disclosed: “We volunteered to host the conference because bringing that value to Rivers people aligns with our mission of marketing Rivers State positively.”
China described Durotoye’s presence as a major opportunity for participants to gain insights on leadership, personal development and nation building.
He added that young people should begin to see themselves as leaders of today, not tomorrow, stressing that prosperity is rooted in responsibility and value creation.
Reuben addressed the ‘Hidden Architecture of Market Leadership’, saying the conference was designed to help people rethink their perspectives and embrace strategic positioning for success.
According to him, many individuals and organisations struggle not because of poor opportunities, but because they view situations from the wrong perspective.
The leadership coach stressed that leadership is not reserved for those in public office, but begins with individuals taking responsibility from wherever they find themselves.
The event was attended by intermediate and middle to upper level business leaders.
