It was a very convivial atmosphere recently as the Auto Care and Components Division of Coscharis Motors Plc, a subsidiary of Coscharis Group, organised a customers’ forum for its teeming dealers in its product brands in Lagos.

Coming after a two-year lull brought about by economic circumstances, the customer forum was held at the new Coscharis Motors facility located at the Auto Spare-Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPMDA) market within the Trade Fair Complex, along Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

In his welcome remarks, the Deputy Group Managing Director (DGMD) of Coscharis Group, Fred Amobi, expressed the management’s joy on the return of the annual forum, and appreciated the customers for turning up in large bumbers.

Amobi, who assumed duties in his new position as DGMD recently, explained the rationale for reinstating the important ‘family’ gathering, saying,   “The attention of Coscharis Motors management has been drawn to your concerns about the suspension of the incentive programme which we were running before now, following the economic challenges brought about mainly by the global lock-down flowing from the COVID-19 pandemic.”

He noted that the suspension of the incentive programme was necessitated by economic circumstances beyond the company’s control, including COVID-19.

Speaking further, Amobi empathised with the customers for the inconveniences suffered as a result of the suspension of the incentive programme, while appealing to them to understand that the pain which came with it was mutually felt by both the customers and Coscharis alike.

He capped the address with an announcement that the commission would be reintroduced in January, 2024.

The icing on the cake came when the DGMD announced that the company has set aside the sum of N120, 000, 000 to be shared among the customers at the end of the year 2023 as a gesture of appreciation of outstanding performances.

According to Amobi, this was also a gesture of goodwill from the company, for the customers’ continued loyalty, even during the difficult times.

Reacting to the DGMD’s announcement, the spokesperson for the customers, Emmanuel Obele, who is the Managing Director of ECOBEL Nigeria limited, commended the management of Coscharis Motors for bringing back the incentive programme.

He said, “We commend the management of Coscharis Motors for bringing back the incentive programme, this will go a long way in supporting our businesses. Although we were hard-hit by the suspension of the programme in the first place, yet I speak for most of us when I say our loyalty to the company, which has evolved over many years of doing business with you, remained unwavering during those tough times.”

He lamented the negative impact the suspension of the incentives had on the customers business, but re-affirmed their continued loyalty nonetheless.

Some other participants who spoke at the event include Mr. David Osigwe, Managing Director, Namavid Investment, and Onyeka Iwu {Onyeka HBT}, who made a case for a Coscharis warehouse to be located near Oduade market where he and others sell silicon cement..

Earlier in his opening remarks, the General Manager, Coscharis Auto Care and Consumer Products Division, Mr. Uzor Obuzor, had disclosed that the management decided to bring back the forum in the interest of the mutually beneficial relationship between the company and its customers.

Obuzor earned applause when he added, “As it was in the beginning, so shall it continue to be.”
