A former chairman of Warri Wolves, Moses Etu has commended the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori for his contribution to sports development in the state within the short time of his administration.
The former Senior Special Assistant on Sports to the former Governor Okowa said the new governor deserves credit for hosting of the Nigeria Women’s League Super 6 as well as the Nigeria National League Super 8.
“I want to commend Gov Oborevwori for what he has done so far. RT Honourable Oborevwori has continued from where Okowa stopped, thus the people are kept busy with one event or the other.
“ First was hosting the female Super 6 which Delta Queens won and when the Cup was presented he doled out a personal N10 million and promised that the state would host them.
“The state shortly hosted the FA Cup final which Bendel Insurance won and he was physically present to hand over the trophy to the winner despite his busy schedule. He paid a visit to Warri City Stadium to see the level of work done and this gladden the hearts of the people.
“Right now, Asaba is presently agog watching the best of youthful football as eight teams jostle for promotion from the NNL to the NPFL. His action is a reassurance of his promise to more. “ I am happy he is doing exactly what he promised us that he will do more. This is commendable.”
Etu also praised Chief Tonobok Okowa for working with the new governor to make Deltans happy.
