Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has become the first player at the club to publicly comment on the verdict of an independent commission that found the club guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules.
Manchester City have appealed the ruling, maintaining their innocence and challenging the commission’s findings.
The club argued that the judgment “contains clear material errors, of law, principle and fact and is unsafe”.
Amid the ongoing legal dispute, Haaland has urged City supporters to remain calm as the club continues to contest the verdict.
“We have to stick together. We have to stay with each other, and we have to stay positive. No matter what happens in life, we always have to have a smile,” Haaland said.
“So we have to stay positive, look ahead, and try to win football games and try to enjoy the situation and win the game.
“We have to stick together; we have to spread the love to each other. So yeah: stick together, and enjoy the ride and smile,” he said.
