Manchester City have confirmed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the club’s new head coach, with the Italian signing a contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2029.
The appointment marks Maresca’s third spell with the Premier League champions, having previously served in coaching roles at the club before taking up managerial opportunities elsewhere.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced the deal on Monday, revealing that the agreement had been in place for weeks before its official confirmation.
“Enzo Maresca signs in as Manchester City new head coach until June 2029! Deal never in doubt since May and now confirmed,” Romano wrote on his X account.
Reacting to his appointment, Maresca said he was honoured to lead one of Europe’s top clubs and eager to begin work with the squad.

“I want us to win, play good football and enjoy the pressure of representing Manchester City,” he said.
The Italian added that returning to the Etihad was a special moment in his career.
“This will be my third spell at Manchester City. I cannot wait to start coaching,” he said.
Maresca also praised City’s organisational structure, describing the club as one of the best-managed football institutions in the world.
“Manchester City is a club I know very well, and having the opportunity to manage this team is a fantastic privilege. Everything the club does is innovative, carefully planned and purposeful,” he said.
The 46-year-old now takes charge with the task of maintaining City’s domestic dominance while competing for major honours in Europe during his four-year tenure.
