Chelsea booked their place in the FA Cup final after Enzo Fernandez’s first-half header secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Wembley on Sunday.
The Argentine midfielder struck in the 23rd minute, rising to meet Pedro Neto’s precise cross after Leeds defender Pascal Struijk was caught in possession deep inside his own half.
It was a timely response from Chelsea, who were playing their first match since the dismissal of manager Liam Rosenior earlier this week following a dismal run of five straight defeats without scoring.
Fernandez, who had recently found himself at the centre of speculation over his future, delivered when it mattered most, guiding his header into the far corner from close range.
