Enugu State Community Association in Kano State has expressed gratitude to their home government over the provision of a free luxury bus for the conveyance of poor indigenes of the state home for the Christmas celebration.

Speaking to Saturday Sun as scores of delightful indigenes of the state embarked on the journey for the Christmas celebrations on Friday, the Chairman of the association, Nicodemus Nwobodo lauded Governor Peter Mbah for his magnanimity and love for the people of the state.

He explained that the 60 seat luxury bus was able to accommodate at least 60 passengers, including their luggage in addition to some others who travelled as attachments, many of whom are children of the seated passengers.

“The new government of Enugu State this time around remembered the less privileged among us at a time like this when the cost of transportation is well beyond the reach of the common man” he stated noting that the policy has brought profound happiness and joy to the community in the state

He recalled that the tradition of free Christmas vehicles to Enugu residents was initiated years ago, but was discontinued three years ago by the past administration, while rejoicing that Governor Mbah has decided to revisit the policy for the good of his people.

Nwobodo, however, appealed to the state government to increase the allocation of luxury buses to the state for the purpose of Christmas journeys to two or three, noting that big states like Kano State with huge population of Enugu indigenes deserved to have more buses to be able to accommodate the sizable number of intending beneficiaries of the program.

Saturday Sun reports that slots of seats were allocated to town unions to recommend deserving passengers who took off from Kano on Friday. They were expected to arrive at their respective destinations later today according to the transport plan.
