Enugu State is hosting the 17th National Council on Industry, Trade, and Investment, which opens at the state capital on Monday.
Themed “Enhancing Competitiveness in Industry, Trade, and Investment for Inclusive Growth and Global Market Integration,” the 17th NCITI, which will last from Monday to Friday, brings together nearly 1,000 participants, comprising policymakers, investors, and industrial experts, to shape Nigeria’s economic future.
The event will have in attendance the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; the Minister of State for the Ministry, Senator John Owan Enoh; while Governor Peter Mbah of the host state will give the keynote address during the executive session.
Also attending the event are Commissioners for Trade, Commerce, Industry, and Investment from all 36 states; foreign trade and investment delegates; and heads of key federal and state agencies.
Sub-themes are “Industrial Competitiveness and Productivity Enhancement,” “Trade Facilitation and Market Access Strategies,” “Digital Transformation and Innovation in Industry and Trade,” “Regional and Global Market Integration Opportunities,” and “Public-Private Partnership for Sustainable Industrial Growth.”
Enugu has become an attractive conferencing destination under the Governor Peter Mbah administration following massive investments in security, tourism, and transport infrastructure, including Enugu Air, which operates multiple daily services in and out of the state to major local destinations.
