Akwa Ibom state governor pastor Umo Eno has relieved Dr Bassey Okon of his appointment as member of the State Executive Council and Commissioner for Special Duties .
In a statement signed by the Secretary To the State Government (SSG) and made available to Journalists in Uyo on Monday , Eno directed the sacked Commissioner to handover to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry with immediate effect.
Eno explained that the relieve was in line with his administration to reposition for implementation of A-R-I-S-E agenda in the state .
He therefore wished the outgoing commissioner the best in his future endeavours.
The statement reads in parts: In an ongoing effort to reposition the administration in line the A-R-I- S-E AGENDA, the governor of Akwa Ibom state His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno has relieved Dr Bassey Okon ,the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties as Commissioner in Akwa Ibom state Executive Council with immediate effect.
” His Excellency thanks him for his services to the state and wish him the best in his future endeavours ” He said.
