Eniola to Tinubu: Enact laws that’ll protect music industry

Germany-based Nigerian gospel singer, Iyiola Eniola, has urged the federal government to enact laws that will protect the music industry, like it’s done in Germany.

Describing his musical genre as ‘world music’, Eniola said he uses music as a tool for communication, and his songs influence his fans positively.

Eniola, who is also a media personality, events planner and founder of Gosquare Fortunes Limited, has performed in various churches in the world. “I have coordinated various church choirs in Nigeria and outside the country, and have performed in concerts, competitions, festivals, weddings etc. I understand simplicity when it comes to music composition or production, as the German music is very simple and cultural. Its simplicity and acceptability make me understand that, with the right lyrics and concepts, people will listen to your songs.

“When you listen to music in your dialect, you will flow more with the groove and being in a foreign country with different language and style, you will be amazed that songs can be made with such rhythm and melody. I learnt that things do not change unless we change them. We run from difficulties and challenges the times bring. I am sure with the right policies and its implementation, if Nigerians decide to make their country a better place, the narrative will change and Nigerians will no longer call it ‘Japa’ but ‘Japada’,” he stated.
