The #EndBadGovernance Movement has announced plans for a one-day nationwide protest over rising insecurity, hunger, and what it described as anti-poor policies of the President BolaTinubu-led administration in Nigeria.

In a statement dated April 10, 2026, and signed by its Lagos State Coordinator, Hassan Taiwo Soweto, and Secretary, Oloye Adegboyega Adeniji, the group declared: “Nigeria today is bleeding. Enough is enough.”

The movement accused the government of failing to address worsening violence across states, including Plateau, Kaduna, Benue, Zamfara, Borno, and Kwara, where recurring attacks have led to significant loss of lives. It also criticised economic policies, such as fuel subsidy removal and rising fuel prices, which it said have deepened poverty, crippled small businesses, and increased the cost of living. The group further condemned what it described as insensitivity among political leaders, alleging that officials remain insulated from the insecurity affecting ordinary citizens.

Calling for action, the movement urged workers, students, traders, artisans, civil society groups, and unions to mobilise for a peaceful protest to be held across all state capitals. The group said a date would be announced after ongoing consultations nationwide. It said the protest aims to demand an end to insecurity, hunger, and policies that worsen citizens’ living conditions.

“This is a defining moment. Silence will only embolden those who profit from our suffering,” the statement added.

The group also extended condolences to victims of violence nationwide and called for unity among Nigerians to push for change.
