Themed “Survive and Thrive,” this year’s conference will take place from June 26 to June 28, 2024, at the Abuja Continental Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria. The event promises a comprehensive agenda designed to address current economic challenges and provide legal professionals with the tools needed to navigate today’s dynamic landscape.

Dr. Adeoye Adefulu, Chairman of NBA-SBL, highlighted the conference’s unique approach this year. “The 18th annual conference is quite different from what we used to have in the past. This year’s theme, ‘Survive and Thrive,’ captures the mood in the country, reflecting the significant economic challenges affecting our businesses, clients, and homes. We need to come through these challenges and survive,” Adefulu stated.

Emphasizing the diverse nature of the conference, Adefulu mentioned the inclusion of an art exhibition and a section on mental health. “One of the plenary sessions will address capital markets, agriculture, technology and innovations, and sports betting, discussing gambling regulations and social responsibility,” he added.

Mr. Ose Okpeku, Chairman of the Planning Committee, expressed his enthusiasm for the event. “We are excited for this year’s conference as it is set to provide invaluable insights and strategies for legal professionals, young and old, to navigate today’s evolving economic landscape,” he stated.

Key highlights of the conference include panel discussions and keynote speeches from Sanusi Lamido. The conference will also feature five plenary sessions focusing on capital markets, agriculture, technology and innovations, sports betting, real estate, and renewable energy. These sessions aim to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the various sectors influencing the Nigerian economy.

The NBA-SBL remains committed to delivering a conference that not only addresses current challenges but also equips participants with the knowledge and tools needed to foster resilience and success in the legal profession in Nigeria.
