The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, has declared that the Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, deserves a second term in office to consolidate the landmark achievements recorded across the state.
The royal father made the declaration while receiving a delegation from the governor’s media team on a courtesy visit to his palace in Argungu.
The Emir emphasised that the traditional institution stands firmly behind Governor Idris, noting that his administration has consistently delivered standard and high-quality projects that are positively impacting the lives of the people of Kebbi State.
According to him, “it is so clear that we are in support of His Excellency, the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris. We are getting standard projects, betterment of the lives and livelihoods of the people of the state. He has invested enough effort and resources to take the state to the next level,” the Emir stated.
Highlighting the governor’s developmental strides, the traditional ruler described the impact of the administration over the past three years as exceptionally outstanding.
“I don’t think anyone can say no… What has happened in Kebbi State in the last three years is excellent. Kauran Gwandu is an excellent choice. His Excellency the Governor is a man of peace, and it is only natural for us as traditional leaders to give him maximum support,” Emir Mera remarked.

Expressing confidence in Governor Idris’s leadership style, the royal father offered prayers for divine protection and guidance for the governor as he continues to serve the people of the state.
“As I said earlier on, he deserves a second term. That is why we are all here to support him, Insha Allah, and ensure that it happens. Because it is his time. It is his turn. Our prayer is for Almighty God to continue to guide him, protect him, and give him the opportunity to continue the good work he is doing for our people,” he added.
The Emir urged the people of Kebbi State to unite behind Governor Nasir Idris in order to sustain the state’s trajectory of peace, infrastructural development and socio-economic progress.
He assured the delegation that the Argungu Emirate would continue to support the state government’s efforts to take Kebbi State to greater heights and enhance its standing nationally and internationally.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, who led the media team to the palace, explained that the visit was part of an advocacy and networking initiative aimed at appreciating key stakeholders for their unwavering support for the current administration.
The commissioner described Governor Idris as the best-performing governor in the history of the state, highlighting major achievements across various sectors.
