A priest in the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, Rev. Fr. Theophilus Hwande has urged all Nigerians and particular those in Benue state notnro fight or insult one another but to remain peaceful during and even after the elections.

The cleric stated this in a telephone message to our correspondent in Makurdi on Saturday.

Father Hwande who noted that elections should not be conducted on the blood of any Nigerian advised the people not to loose their lives for the sake of election.

“Dear Friend, please don’t kill or fight during elections. Just go out and vote peacefully because the election is not about you, it’s about them, (politicians).

“Don’t hate somebody because they refused to support your candidate for the person may later benefit more than you from that your candidate.

“Don’t make promises for any politician who is contesting elections because what they see in government when they enter is different from what you and them see when they are only contesting.

“Do not loose your friends and relationships because of elections for you will certainly loose your candidates after elections to their greed and primitive acquisition of wealth.”

He maintained that they must vote for their preferred in a peaceful manner, main their relationships with brothers, sisters, friends or colleagues by not fighting or insulting people during this election time.
