The Executive Director of Development Specs Academy, Okey Ikechukwu, has warned that statements made by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, could pose a threat to Nigeria’s national security.
Speaking on ARISE News on Tuesday morning, Ikechukwu said El-Rufai’s comments were not casual comments but specific allegations that the National Security Adviser’s communication lines were tapped, implying that government surveillance power could be compromised.

“When someone in public office breaches confidentiality, it is not just a privacy violation; it poses a serious threat to national security infrastructure. The DSS has grounds to arrest him,” he said.
Ikechukwu stressed that public officials must safeguard sensitive information, warning that if such information leaks, it could undermine trust in government security measures.
In order to avoid any threats to national security, he encouraged the appropriate authorities to look into the situation as soon as possible and brought to book if El-Rufai is found guilty.
