Combined security operatives refused reporters of various media organisations access to the courtroom for the arraignment of the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) at the Federal High Court, Kaduna, on Tuesday, over alleged money laundering and other financial fraud.

El-Rufai arrived at the court premises at about 8:55 A.M., waited in a Toyota Hilux van accompanied by operatives of the ICPC, and was eventually led into the courtroom by 9.33 A.M.

However, as Reporters from different organisations made their way to the entrance of the court building, they were turned back by security operatives, who only allowed the ICPC media cameraman entrance.

El-Rufai was spotted wearing a green-coloured Babanriga (Flowing native Hausa gown) with a cap to match, as well as eyeglasses.

Earlier on Monday, according to the ICPC, the suit marked FHC/KD/73/2026 contains charges ranging from conversion and possession of public property to alleged money laundering.
