The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has said that it is going back to the drawing board to fine-tune ways of ensuring that the members return to the fold as one family.

A former deputy governor of the state, Dr Sikiru Tae Lawal, who unveiled this at a stakeholders’ meeting in Ado-Ekiti, capital of the state, on Wednesday, explained that the meeting was to champion the reunification of members of the party and work towards its congress which is expected to come up soon.

He regretted that the party has been in a quagmire in the state since its 2020 crisis-ridden congresses. This state of affairs, he pointed out has not been palatable as it continues to hamper activities of the party in Ekiti compared to other states.

The former deputy governor remarked that the party is now poised to bounce back to power to justify the trust of its followers.

He attributed what held the party down for the past fours years, to ego, grandstanding and other human frailties.

“Therefore, the meeting became an auspicious moment for members to gather with a view to charting a way forward and ensuring its stability”.

Present at the meeting include, Senator Duro Faseyi, Hon Adeola Ogunrinde, Rt Hon Tunji Odeyemi, Amb. Dare Bejide, Dr. Mrs Dupe Alade, Rt. Hon. Kola Oluwawole, Chief Sanya Atofarati and Chief Hon. Makanju Ogundipe.

Others are, Hon. Bode Ajewole, Hon. Mrs. Lanre Fajuyi, Hon. Mrs. Akindahunsi, Hon. Mrs. Titi Oguntuase, Hon. Segun Akinwumi, Hon. Akutupu, Rt. Hon. Abeni Olayinka and Rt. Hon Segun Adewumi.

Party leaders from all the 16 Local Government Arees of the state were also at the meeting.
