Eight additional dead bodies of security personnel have been recovered after suspected armed herdsmen and local militias launched a deadly attack on Police Tactical Teams at Agu Centre, Katsina-Ala Local Government Areas of Benue State.
Recall that on Friday, September 19, 2025, 11 security personnel drawn from the Police and State security operatives known as Civil Protection Guards (CPG) code named Anyam Nyor were ambushed during a clearance operation in Katsina Ala LG.
The attack resulted in the death of three police officers, while eight other personnel were missing.

The Council Chairman of Katsina Ala, Mr Justine Shaku who spoke to our correspondent on phone on Monday said eight others who went missing have been found dead bringing the number to 11.
Shaku said “additional eight bodies have been recovered apart from the first three that you know. That is where we are. They were on border patrol when the incident occured.
“The Police Commissioner Ifeanyi Emenari is right here with me. We will put in more efforts to flush out whoever is challenging us within our territory.”
Asked the general feeling of the people of the area Shaku said people are not happy. “people are feeling very bad. In a normal circumstance, people who are helping us end up dying in the course of their duty. Nobody is happy but we are on top of the situation.”
