Commissioner of Police (CP), Benue State Police Command, Hassan Yabanet, has ordered the deployment of police officer across the state to ensure a hitch free Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the state.
He said all mosques, prayer grounds, event centres among other places in the state would be manned by his officers to ensure a crime free celebration.
This was contained in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Catherine Anene, in Makurdi.
The commissioner said by the order, all area commanders, divisional police officers and tactical commanders are to emplace adequate security measures within their areas of responsibility and ensure strict supervision during the festive period.
The CP specified that all mosques or prayer grounds, event centres as well as entry and exit routes in Benue State must be manned by officers.
He advised parents, guidance, religious and traditional rulers to warn their children, wards and subjects to be law-abiding as the command will not tolerate any act that is capable of causing breach of peace during the period.
The CP enjoined the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies to ensure a crime free celebration.
While felicitating with the Muslim community, Yabanet assured them of commitment to provide adequate security of lives and property during the Salah celebration.
