As Muslims prepare for Eid El-Fitr Sallah celebrations, a Kaduna based Non Governmental Organization, Azumi Foundation has given palliatives to about 500 residents of the State in Chikun Local Government Area.
The Foundation under the leadership of Architect Sani Abbas said the gesture was designed to cushion the effects of the current economic realities on the people, as the Eid El-Fitr Sallah celebration approaches.
The palliatives included food stuffs and cash donation of N5,000 to 120 people, some of who are chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government and from 12 wards of Chikun LGA.
The Foundation’s Chief Executive, who was represented at the distribution by Malam Dauda Abdulkadir, said the inclusion of APC Chieftains in the palliatives was informed by Architect Abbas’ resolve to assist those who worked for the success of Governor Uba Sani election.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Awwal Ilyasu Udawa expressed appreciation to Foundation’s Chief Executive, Architect Sani Abbas for the gesture, saying that, the palliatives will go a long way in helping the beneficiaries during the festivity.
Udawa who is also the Chairman of the APC in Chikun local government however appealed to Governor Uba Sani to empower more of Chikun citizens, so that they can emulate Architect Abbas by reaching out to the people in need.
