A marketing strategist and business developer, Temiloluwa Solomon, has announced plans to launch the Efiko Initiative, a scholarship dedicated to stemming the decline of education in the country, revitalising learning, rewarding academic excellence, and promoting education across the nation.

The scheme, he said, would revive the burning desire of students for knowledge and show them that academic excellence is still very rewarding. It is an educational initiative.

Solomon noted that with Efiko, there’s a lot to unpack. From educational outreaches to online quizzes that allow young students to learn, have fun, and get rewarded while doing so, to scholarships, both local and international.

He said the most prominent part of the Efiko Initiative is the Efiko Challenge, which will see over 100 students from different schools come together and write tests drawn from the secondary school curriculum of mathematics, English, and general knowledge.

“To start with, we’re taking it to schools where it is needed the most. Outstanding students from these tests will be rewarded with scholarships, cash gifts, recommendations, and mentorship. Some of the represented schools will also be rewarded with computer installations, solar panel installations, boreholes for clean water, and many more.

“Consolation prizes will be given to other outstanding students to encourage them to do better. The aim is to encourage students at all levels to take academic excellence seriously and to promote education across Africa,” he added.
