The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied declaring a popular content creator, Chukwuemeka Ejekwu also known as Sabinus wanted.

This followed the circulation on social media of a public notice purportedly issued by the anti-graft commission.

It was alleged that the public notice was signed by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale.

Information gleaned from the public notice alleged the comedian was wanted in a case of obtaining under false pretence.

But in a post on its verified Facebook page on Thursday, the EFCC described the circulating public notice as “fake news” and its originator as a “clout chaser”.

“Clout chaser, Stop this now!” the commission warned.

Born in Rivers State, Sabinus has risen to become one of Africa’s most prominent online content creators.

In 2022, he won the Best Online Content Creator award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) .
