EFCC officials

Benin City, Nigeria – Operatives from the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended three suspected fraudsters for impersonating Evangelist Chukwuebuka Obi of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach on social media.

The suspects, identified as Odion Victor, Amos Godwin, and Ayomide Michael, allegedly used the evangelist’s cloned social media accounts to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

According to a statement released by the EFCC on Friday, the arrests were made following credible intelligence that revealed the suspects’ activities. They reportedly deceived many of members Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s ministry into donating money for the treatment of purportedly sick individuals, sowing seeds for spiritual breakthroughs, or paying for special prayers. The funds were then deposited into the fraudsters’ bank accounts.

The EFCC confirmed that the suspects would be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation.
