Education: Onuokaibe backs Gov Mbah’s innovations with N11.5 million fund

Philanthropist, Chief Patrick Onuokaibe has donated a sum of N11.5 million Naira to Enugu state Government as his way of supporting the smart school initiatives embarked upon by the administration of Governor Peter Mbah.

The event, held at Enugu State Smart School environment in Owo,Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, had in attendance the commissioner for Education, Prof Ndubueze Mbah, amongst other dignitaries.

Recall that the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’ is building K9 Smart School projects, designed to be built across 260 wards in Enugu State, an initiative aimed at improving the quality of education, skills, and manpower development crucial for the overall development of the State.

Speaking during the presentation of the cheque for the purchase of the school uniforms as a way of supporting the state Government’s initiative, the Chief Executive officer of First Choice Afro Villa, Chief Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe said, it has always been the wish of his company to support the good initiatives of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

He posited that, as an indigenous company, it has always been their interest to support the State Government, especially on areas that would secure the future of the citizens.

Chief Onuokaibe asserted that, Education is the bedrock of every society and thus, would want such to be replicated in Mburubu, his hometown, as such would foster astronomical development in his town.

According to him, “We are here because the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah needs private partnership to succeed.”

“It has always been the wish of our company to support the disruptive innovations of our Governor and this is one of the many ways that we intend to do this.”

“Enugu is blessed with a smart leader who appointed a smart Commissioner and that is why the state is thriving.”

“We have donated for 1000 students and we intend to support them to do more through the state Ministry of Education.”

Chief Onuokaibe also went further to explain what a smart school is all about and why it is the best innovation in the state.

“Smart schools, to me, integrate technology into education, enhancing the learning experience for students.”

“It makes institutions leverage digital tools, interactive platforms, and connectivity to create dynamic and engaging classrooms. From interactive whiteboards to online collaboration tools, smart schools embrace innovative solutions that cater to diverse learning styles.”

“Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s implementation of smart technologies facilitates real-time assessments, personalized learning plans, and efficient communication between teachers, students, and parents.”

“It plays a pivotal role in preparing students for the challenges of a tech-driven world, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy.”

Appreciating this gesture, the Honourable commissioner for Education, Prof Ndubuisi Mbah described Chief Onuokaibe’s donation as a welcomed development.

He stated that the state Government is determined to revitalize the education system, which prompted why it allocated over 33% of the 2024 budget to education.

Prof Mbah assured that the schools will bridge the gap between those in the rural areas as well as those in the urban areas.

He called for support from all the business owners in Enugu state to make this initiative successful.

In his remarks, The Head of Marketing and Communication, First Choice Afro Villa Ltd and a social media influencer, Mr. Okoh Onyekachi Emmanuel popularly known as Okwuruora Ndị Igbo, said the company is ever ready to support Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s initiative in the state.

He stated that, First Choice Afro Villa is ever ready to work with Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, saying that their gesture is a call for other business owners in the state to follow.

He stated that this noble idea of Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah would be copied by other states which is a big credit to the state: asserting that, in addition to these donations, the company will register over 500 students for Jamb.
