Edo State Police Command has arrested 24 suspected armed robbers, cultists and kidnappers, recovering arms and ammunition in their various hideouts in Benin.
Commissioner of Police, Funso Adegboye, said: “The command is waging war against criminals. We neutralised some on hoodlums during different encounters with them. I want to appreciate my officers for applying professionalism during the encounters. We have checkmated the hoodlums by raiding their hideouts constantly and surveillance.
“Police Anti– Kidnapping Squad arrested 11 suspected kidnappers within Ekpoma Auchi, Benin axis. The suspects confessed to the crime.

“The Anti –Cultism operatives nabbed another 10 suspects involved in armed robbery. They carried out different operations in Benin and campuses of different institutions.
“They were involved in murder cases and are members of Black Axe and Eiye Confraternity. We recovered guns , cutlasses and 20 rounds of cartidges.
“Police arrested 12 suspected armed robbers along Benin/Agbor Expressway, Benin/Ore Expressway and Benin/Auchi Expressway. We raided the l forests in that axis. We appreciate the support of the members of the public.”
