The Youth converged at Ugbowo, where they made passionate appeal on their knees to the Catholic Priest in absentia.

They also resolved to visit the Benin Catholic Bishop and appeal to him to loan the priest to serve as governor of Edo State.

The spokespersons :Messer Daniel Oziegbe, Catonia Omoregie, Thomas Joseph and several others expressed their resolve to mobilize all Youth to key into this vision.

They described the Catholic Priest as a good man, who is trustworthy, reliable, compassionate to the young, students, widows, the lonely and helpless .

According to them, “ the present government in the state has disappointed us. We are sick and tired! We need someone who will feel for us, fix our roads and dilapidated schools buildings, Fr Obinyan is the man”.

The Youth alluded to his antecedents in infrastructural transformation in all the churches he served and his remarkable zeal for the spread of the gospel.

The Youth urged the good people of Edo ,irrespective of political affiliations, religion, status, ethnicity, to join in persuading the Priest to contest for Edo governorship.

It would be recalled that Youth from Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state had recently made similar appeal to the Priest, amidst earlier calls from notable Edolites at home and abroad. Fr. Obinyan, however, has not given a definite “yes” or “no” to the calls.
