The Ebonyi State University (EBSU) Pocket Layout Allottees Association has appealed to Governor Francis Nwifuru to intervene in the delay of their land titles.

In a letter to the governor, the Association hinted that they have fulfilled all necessary requirements for obtaining Certificates of Occupancy, including verifying the legitimacy of the land sale through proper government channels.

They also said they participated in a publicly advertised and transparent bidding process supervised by the state Council on Public Procurement, paid the required lease fees, fulfilled other financial obligations and secured approvals from EBSU and relevant government agencies

However, despite completing the steps, they claimed the Survey Department of the Ministry of Lands and Survey has refused to issue government-approved beacon numbers for the allocated plots.

They also accused the department of withholding allocation papers while allegations of illegal land occupation by unauthorised individuals persisted.

The Association, therefore, urged the governor to direct “the Commissioner for Lands and Survey to immediately issue government approved beacon numbers in the already parcellated lands to all the allottees in the Ebonyi State University Pocket Layout.
