An indigent widow in Azuebin Ndiegu Echara, Azuebonyi Idembia, in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Gloria Nwali Ezakaba, has been declared missing by the community.

The area has been in disarray since she went missing. The widow, 45, who is deaf and mute and cannot write, was said to have left the community for Ameka, another community in the local government, to receive Christmas gifts from a philanthropist in the area on 24 December 2025.

“Story had it that Mrs Gloria Nwali, after getting her share of the Christmas gift, was taken to where she boarded an okada with two other women on one motorcycle. The bike rider was asked to convey Gloria to a bus stop called God is Love Junction at Onueke where the man that took her to Ameka would meet her and board another vehicle that could convey her home.

“But till today, 28 December, she has not been seen in our community. Ndiegu Echara Village in Azuebonyi Idembia, close to Nwafor Idembia market, has been in disarray searching for Gloria Nwali Ezakaba who cannot talk, hear, nor write,” Charles Nwankwo, a resident of the community, said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Joshua Ukandu, a Superintendent of Police, said the matter has not been reported to his office.

“I don’t have that report presently. These people sometimes don’t report to us. So, for me to react on this, there has to be a missing person’s report,” he told Daily Sun.
