Though he failed to reach the round of 16 of the championship, Nigeria’s table tennis rising star Taiwo Matti has said he is excited about his performance in the championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Making his debut in the ITTF World Championship, Matti reached the round of 32 before losing out to North Korea’s Jang Woojin 11-3, 11-7, 11-7, 11-5.
Speaking after the game, Matti was elated to have reached the round of 32 in his first attempt.
“Honestly, I do not know what to say, I am just speechless. It is my first time playing in the World Championships and it is like a dream come true for me to reach this stage”, he said after the game.
