The camp of the Nigeria’s senior men’s team opens today in Lagos ahead of the Pre-Olympic Qualifiers due to commence on August 12.
Expected in the camp are 15 players who will battle for spots on the 12-man roster of Coach Ogoh Odaudu and his technical crew.
The invited players include Chimezie Metu, EJ Anosike, Ike Ndugba, Michael Eric, Mike Nuga, Kaodirichi Akonbundu- Ehiohu and Ibe Agu.
Others are Michael Daramola, Daniel Utomi, Warith Alatishe, Godwin Omenaka, UC Iroegbu, Victor Ezeh, Kanyinsola Odufuwa and Michael Okiki.
D’Tigers will face Senegal in its opening game on August 14 while Mali and Uganda will play the first game of the qualifier series.
Nigeria is drawn in Group A with Senegal, Mali and Uganda. Group B is made up of Congo DR, Cameroon, Guinea and Tunisia.
The winners of each FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament will line up at one of next July’s FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, with the winners of those clinching spots for Paris 2024.
