A bold push to transform healthcare delivery in Southern Kaduna gained momentum yesterday as Apostle Emmanuel Kure inaugurated what he described as a “dream board” for the newly established Throneroom College of Nursing Sciences, Kafanchan.
The proprietor charged members of the Board of Trustees to set a high standard for the institution and position it among top nursing colleges in Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking at the inauguration in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Kure said the board was carefully constituted to provide the leadership required to produce globally competitive nursing professionals and address critical manpower shortages in the health sector.
“This is a dream board. You have been selected based on your principles, track records and legacies.
“The expectation is clear, build a college that stands out in curriculum, discipline, ethics and overall excellence,” he said.
Kure noted that the college would not only expand access to nursing education but also create opportunities for residents while strengthening healthcare delivery across the region.

He paid glowing tribute to the Board Chairman, Mrs Alheri Yusuf, crediting her expertise and contributions for accelerating the take-off of the institution.
Yusuf, a former Director of Nursing at the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, has also consulted for international bodies, including UNFPA and USAID.
In her acceptance speech, Yusuf pledged the board’s commitment to excellence and teamwork, describing their appointment as a call to service.
She disclosed that the college plans to admit its first set of students from candidates sitting for this year’s Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
“We are determined to produce not just qualified, but compassionate nurses,” she said, while appealing for the government’s support, particularly in security and road access to the institution.
The Chairman of Jema’a LGA, Mr Peter Tanko Dogara, commended the initiative, describing it as timely, while the traditional ruler of the Agwam Takad, Mr Tobias Nkom Wada, said the college would help bridge longstanding gaps in healthcare and nursing education in the area.
Other members of the board include Dr Yusuf Dawan, P.K. Ayuba (Secretary), Aishatu Akau, Danladi Kure Maidawa (Registrar), Elisha Zokale (acting Provost), Dr Joel Adze Amwe, Pastor Martha Kure and Dr Paul Dogo.
