The family of Dr MNC Nwofor (Ozo Enyikwonwa) has announced that he will be laid to rest on Friday, March 6, in Awka, Anambra State.
Dr Nwofor, who hailed from Umuogbunu village of Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 95.
In a statement by one of his children, Chukwuma Kingsley Nwofor, the family outlined a series of funeral activities scheduled to honour the late patriarch.
According to the statement, a service of songs will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at his residence located at 1, Onwurah Street, Awka, by 5pm
The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, and will be conducted by the Cathedral Church of St. Faith (Anglican Communion), Awka, at his compound, 1, Onwurah Street, Awka.
On Friday, March 6, Ozo Awka funeral rites will take place, followed by interment and condolence visits at his residence in Awka.
The family stated that condolence visits by in-laws, friends and well-wishers will continue on Saturday, March 7.
An outing service is also scheduled for Sunday, March 8, at the Cathedral Church of St. Faith (Anglican Communion), Awka, beginning at 4:30pm.
Dr Nwofor, who was President of Ozo Oka from 2022 to 2025, was widely respected in his community for his leadership and contributions to traditional and social development initiatives.
He is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
