Dr Betta Edu day 3 review at UNGA 78

Being the first African President to ever obtain the honour; President Bola Ahmad Tinubu closed the world’s stock capital market of the US National Association of Securities Dealers Automatic Quotation System (NASDAQ) on Wednesday in New York.
The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation Dr Betta Edu joined him alongside other Nigeria delegations to #UNGA78.

The Honorable Minister also participated in the
Nigeria-U.S. Executive Business Roundtable where President Tinubu assured prospective investors of the confidence of the global investment community in Nigeria presently; especially with his fiscal reforming, monetary, regulatory and tax policy conducive environment. It was an opportunity for her to present the pitch deck for her ministry to private sector players.

As a keynote Speaker, Dr Betta Edu engaged ” The World Economic Forum” (WEF) to shape global, regional and industry agendas as regards to sustainable development goals and advancing Refugee Employment globally.

The Honourable Minister was also part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s high power delegation which paid a visit to the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres and Amina Mohammed (Deputy Secretary-General)
at the UN Headquarters Office in New York City. At the meeting the President made a clear presentation on the expected role of the UN in Nigeria and Africa. The Meeting featured the presentation of the Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Ministry Action Plan (2023-2030) by the President to the UN General Secretary.

Dr Betta Edu equally had a meeting with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Assistant Secretary General and Deputy Executive Director on a strategic presentation, to address livelihood, gender empowerment and equality , and the imperative that no one will be left behind with the transformative goals of the renewed hope agenda partnering with UNFPA on a larger scale in Nigeria.
