An advocacy group, Forum of Lawyers for Human Rights and Justice, has urged President Bola Tinubu to ignore calls for the sack of the Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu.

The group, in a statement by its convener, KD Okere, said Edu has done well in the discharge of her duties since assumption of office as minister. It noted that calling for the minister ‘s sack are those, who do not wish the Tinubu administration well.

The group noted that the minister deserves commendation over her ongoing reforms of National Social Investment Programme to align with President Tinubu “Renewed Hope Agenda.’

It further stated that within few months in office Edu has made significant contributions to the growth and development of the nation, through her reforms in the social investment program and the humanitarian ministry.

According to the group, the minister ‘s unwavering commitment to alleviating the plight of the most vulnerable Nigerians is worthy of note.

The group stated that recent reports linking the minister to the ongoing investigations of the suspended National Coordinator of National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Halima Shehu, are the handiwork of those, who are allegedly uncomfortable with reforms initiated by the minister.
