The profile of many young Nigerian DJs are now on meteoric rise as they are already getting due recognition just like the new waves of Afrobeats artistes that are rocking the international scene with their new sounds. One of these new global movement progenitors is the skillful Aluko Samson Omobola, popularly known as DJ Scoophy.
DJ Scoophy is a street boy who has a love for music and is also passionate about being a known DJ. He kick-started his career in 2016 at the Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba, Lagos where as a student he started playing around Virtual DJ –a software for DJs.
The turntable whizkid –born and raised in Ketu, Lagos State but hails from Osun State– however honed his skills under the tutelage of the popular DJ Kaywise and graduated from Kaywise Academy in the year 2019. He also learnt a lot about the craft from DJ Obiondeck, who happened to be one of his mentors in the industry.
DJ Scoophy is presently working on a set of mixtapes and EPs in collaboration with some notable artistes. They are expected to drop hopefully before the end of this year.
Speaking further, the fast rising DJ is also looking at exploring other people’s culture and thus working on the tour of the United Kingdom later in the year.
The tour, being put together by the popular Nigerian-born UK-based event organizer cum travel consultant, Billique, will see DJ Scoophy behind the wheel of steels thrilling his fans in London, Manchester, Liverpool among other UK cities.
