World champion and record holder, Tobi Amusan will go head-to-head again at the Diamond League final in Zurich against Puerto Rico sprinter Jasmine Camacho-Quinn on Thursday .
Amusan is making a triumphant return to Zurich, four days after she produced a golden performance at Berlin’s ISTAF meeting – a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver competition last Sunday .
The duo will clash again in Zurich, along with Olympic silver medallist, Kendra Harrison, world silver medallist, Britany Anderson, world indoor silver medallist Devynne Charlton and 2019 world champion, Nia Ali.
While Amusan will be gunning for two consecutive Diamond League titles, Camacho-Quinn will be aiming to make it six wins in six Diamond League races.
Camacho-Quinn dethroned Amusan at the Athletissima Diamond League meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland on August 27.
The much anticipated race will be the second time Amusan will be running against the Puerto Rican and USA’s Kendra Harrison after breaking the Word Record at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene last month.
Since taking bronze at the World Championships, though, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn has been undefeated. The Olympic champion won in Stockholm, Silesia, Lausanne and Brussels, setting meeting records at the three most recent meetings, and beating Amusan in Lausanne.
Amusan produced one of the biggest surprises of the World Championships when she sped to a world record of 12.12 in the semifinals of the women’s 100m hurdles, following it with a wind-assisted 12.06 in the final to win gold.
She went on to win the Commonwealth title in a Games record of 12.30.
The Wanda Diamond League season reaches its climax at the Weltklasse Zurich in Switzerland on Wednesday and Thursday (7-8).
