Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has disclosed that she lost ₦5 million after placing what she described as her first-ever football bet on the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina.
The actress shared the revelation in a post on her Instagram page shortly after the match, expressing disappointment over the outcome of the bet.
Etiko said the experience was both financially and emotionally difficult, adding that the pressure of watching the final with so much money at stake left her overwhelmed.
Reacting to the loss with crying and heartbreak emojis, the actress said she regrets placing the bet and vowed not to gamble on football again, joking that she was done watching the sport.
“First time betting and I lost. Will never try it again. My N5 million is gone. In fact, I’m done watching football. Anxiety almost killed me,” she wrote.
