With viral steps, international features, and a loyal fanbase, Demzy Baye is redefining African dance.

Few dancers in Ghana have made as much impact in recent years as Demzy Baye. From creating viral moves to performing on international platforms, his career highlights the global appeal of African dance.

Raised in Anfoegã Akukume, Volta Region, Demzy initially pursued nursing before switching to dance full-time. His defining moment came with the creation of the Baye Dance Step, a move that became his signature and a rallying call in performances worldwide.

The viral success of the step, alongside challenges like Defe Defe (Afromix) and Yeshua, turned him into a household name. As part of DWP Academy, he continues to mentor young talents while performing across Ghana and beyond.

“Dance is not just movement. It’s culture, it’s expression, it’s identity,” Demzy explains.

His resume includes appearances in Beyoncé’s Black Is King, collaborations with Stonebwoy and Mr. Eazi, and performances at 3Music Awards, TGMA, and Global Citizen Festival 2023, where he performed with Usher.

What makes Demzy unique is his versatility, he is not only a choreographer but also a dance therapist, hypeman, presenter, and voiceover artist. This multidimensional approach has earned him a dedicated following, the LMF Citizens, who celebrate him as their LMF President.

By pushing boundaries and elevating Ghanaian dance to international platforms, Demzy Baye is shaping the narrative of African creativity in the global entertainment industry.
